The story of Sarah and Kyle is simple in the sense that it begins with a nine-word question. But before we get to that moment, let’s backtrack several years to the starting point. Beginning in the winter of 2013, at Emory University. Before we even get to that, actually, let’s paint the whole picture. Twelve years ago, the two 18 year-olds met for the first time in New York City for a pre-Emory meet up. Not much of an impression was made on either during that initial meeting other than the fact that they both agree they were at the same party at the same time. From there, they would continue to be in each other’s social circles, and mostly just at Maggie's - Emory's favorite drinking establishment - where Kyle bought Sarah many a vodka soda. Things really begin in the winter of 2013 on a rather warm January day. Sarah agreed to meet Kyle at Jazzmans, the purely functional yet somewhat charming cafe at the heart of the library, on the basis that they discuss the upcoming semester as the social chairs of their respective Greek-Life organizations. For Kyle, he certainly wanted to discuss the opportunities at hand for organizational collaboration, but secretly he was also interested in getting to know Sarah a bit better, and potentially seeing if she might also be open to collaborating, individually. Both agree that during that time, as social chairs, they were a perfect match throwing raucous parties together. This includes the still oft spoken about denim theme mixer. Both also agree that anything more than a close friendship was off the table, for now. Their love, like wine, one of their favorite hobbies, needed a bit more time to mature before it could be opened and enjoyed. Post-college, the two went their separate ways. Sarah moved to New York to pursue a career in advertising while Kyle started fresh in Los Angeles. A few seasons later, when a spiritual girls trip landed Sarah out in California, they found themselves once again together at a crowded bar, this time at Harlowe in West Hollywood. Kyle presented a drink to Sarah without her asking as he often did in college. Sarah proceeded to thank Kyle and insist the gesture was unnecessary as she often did too. But there was something different about this moment. A divine sort of clarity had hit Kyle. It was like he had been thinking very hard for an answer to a forgotten question when suddenly, like an epiphany, he found it. Deep down, it was something he had known since the first time the two had met. He turned to her calmly and said - “You know we’re going to end up together, right?” The effect of the nine-word question on Sarah was immediate. It seems that she too, had known all along. In a flash, the two set a date in Denver, an unexplored middle ground between the two coasts, for the ultimate compatibility test. After the success of that weekend they dated long distance for the following 9 months. Kyle describes it as the hardest time in his life; Sarah describes it as a blast. When Kyle landed a dream job in the summer of 2017, a divine sort of clarity hit Sarah this time. Her heart knew that big things awaited both her and Kyle in Los Angeles. From there, the rest is pretty much the story most of you all know well. Their leap of faith turned into a deep romance and partnership in the truest sense of the word. The next six years included a lifetime full of adventures - road tripping all over the West Coast, traveling across four continents, emerging as wine snobs, taking many siestas on the Santa Monica beach, throwing incredible parties in their backyard in Venice, and getting engaged in Aspen. Through it all they’ve been side-by-side as best friends and perfect complements. Now, in their latest chapter - relocating to NYC. They are re-immersing themselves into a city very near and dear to them both. They (we) cannot wait to add to that story with you all in Miami this coming March!
